New Target Acquires Towers Internet and Appoints Irve Towers as Chief Technology Officer; Web Visionary to Expand Company's Hosting Division [June 7, 2004]

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2004--New Target, Inc., a rapidly growing Web services firm, today announced Irve Towers has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), following the acquisition of Towers Internet Consulting. As a Web hosting visionary, Towers is well known for his accomplishments as the founder of Hub Internet Services, where he played a primary role in the company's acquisition by industry pioneer CAIS Internet (now BtN). At New Target, Towers will be responsible for further developing and managing the company's hosting division and related assets, as well as the technical vision and direction for the Company. His duties will include the evaluation of client technical requirements, the provisioning of hardware and software for hosting environments, and directing New Target's own internal technical processes.

Towers, who began his career at IBM in 1973, was instrumental in the rollout of the Washington, DC region's first ATMs and grocery checkout scanner systems, and was a three-time winner of the coveted IBM Means Service award. In 1994, Towers founded Hub Internet Services, which was purchased by CAIS Internet of McLean, Virginia in 2000. Towers subsequently managed the Web hosting unit of CAIS Internet and performed the same functions for Beyond the Network (BtN), which purchased CAIS in mid 2001. Prior to joining New Target, Towers formed and managed a successful Web hosting and consulting business, Towers Internet Consulting, LLC, which was acquired by New Target in April, 2004.
