NTT
Communications Wins Telemark's Best in Class Award
[March 2, 2004]
Tokyo Japan, March 2, 2004 - NTT Communications
Corporation announced today that the company's world-class
international data services for multinational clients
have been named Best in Class in the Indispensable to
Customers category of a data service users survey conducted
recently by Telemark Services of Manchester, United
Kingdom.
The Indispensable to Customers category
measures customer satisfaction in the three areas considered
most important to customers: network reliability, fault
reporting process and secure data transfer. NTT Communications
scored an aggregate rating of "excellent"
in the category, leading to its being named the best
carrier in the class.
Kimio Tamura, Vice President of Global
Services Business Division for NTT Communications says:
"NTT Communications' prides itself in its relationships
with its customers and its commitment to providing outstanding
quality and service. This is reflected in our very low
churn rates globally. Telemark's survey only reinforces
our commitment to focusing on the customer."
NTT Communications also received four
Telemark Gold Awards, which reflect exceptional levels
of customer satisfaction, in network reliability, secure
data transfer, no hidden extras in bills and accurate
bills.
NTT Communications' performance also
improved significantly in nineteen service attributes
since the previous report, namely: network reliability,
fault reporting process, notification of network problems,
installation not disrupting, value for money, installation
on schedule, international performance, end-to-end network
management, general helpdesk provision, operational
guarantees, adequate data throughput, understanding
customers' requirements, technical support, 24-hour
transparent maintenance, geographical reach end to end,
single point of contact, prior pilot installation, long-term
relationship and new product and service information.
The company's success in raising performance levels
in these critical areas is remarkable, considering that
even small incremental gains are tough to achieve.
According to Janet Watkin, Telemark
Director, "NTT's perceived improvement is particularly
noteworthy because its satisfaction ratings were already
at a relatively high level, and to achieve major improvements
in so many areas is as yet unmatched. Though the improvements
are largely clustered in areas of technical and operational
aspects of service, it is clear that cementing strong
relationships based on technical superiority is emerging
as the cornerstone of NTT's international expansion."
Telemark conducted the survey by interviewing
360 respondents, representing 27 countries, chosen at
random from the among world's top international companies.
