[May 5, 2005]
Partnership
with Microsoft benefits Windows hosting customers
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 5, 2005) – The Go Daddy
Group, Inc., parent company of GoDaddy.com, the No.
1 registrar of domain names worldwide, announced today
that it now offers a variety of Web site starter solutions,
free of charge, that assist individuals who are designing
and building web sites. These no cost solutions are
available to customers utilizing Go Daddy’s shared
“Deluxe” or “Premium” Windows®
Hosting plans.
Go Daddy’s Web site starter solutions are a series
of applications built by Microsoft® partners that
allow customers to install separate modules for web
site customization. One such starter solution, DotNetNuke,
is a portal for complete Web site design that contains
over 100 different add-on modules. Another starter solution,
Community Server, is an application that allows Go Daddy
customers to create easy to use discussion boards (a/k/a
“forums”), photo albums, and Web logs (“Blogs”).
All of the applications provide step-by-step directions
for installation, as well as instructions on how to
use the application after installation is complete.
By utilizing these separate modular applications, Go
Daddy’s “Deluxe” and “Premium”
Windows® hosting customers can design and fully
customize their Web sites without having to master the
intricacies of web design and programming.
“The setup was very easy,” said Josh Stine,
commenting on the DotNetNuke solution. The owner of
www.runningpaws.com, Josh added, “You’re
providing a great service. It makes it easy for a non-technical
person.”
“Every day, new customers come to our site eager
to launch a web site for the domain name they just purchased,”
said Bob Parsons, president and founder of The Go Daddy
Group, Inc., named the fastest growing technology company
(ranked # 8 overall) on the Inc. 500 List of America’s
Fastest Growing Private Companies. “These new
customers are either unfamiliar with how to design a
Web site, or, they simply do not have the time to dedicate
to web site design,” Parsons continued. “As
a result, we’ve implemented easy to use, point
and click solutions that help Go Daddy customers get
their customized Windows-based web sites up and running
in no time – and at no additional cost.”
Go Daddy’s shared Deluxe hosting plans start at
$9.95/month, with Premium hosting plans starting at
$19.95/mth. Additional 20% discounts are available for
both plans when purchased for one year in advance. All
Go Daddy hosting plans are supported by data centers
with world class networking (including multiple OC-48,
OC-12 and OC-3 connections and an Ethernet backbone),
24x7 in-depth monitoring, 24x7 physical security, best-of-breed
router, firewall and server equipment, full network
redundancy, fully redundant power and air conditioning
supply, and enterprise class back-up and restore technology.
