Communications Names Brian Oliver as Executive Vice
President of Strategy and Corporate Development

-- XO Communications, Inc. today announced that it has
appointed Brian Oliver as Executive Vice President of
Strategy and Corporate Development.
In this role, Mr. Oliver will manage
the company's strategic planning process and be responsible
for implementing corporate development activities such
as identifying, negotiating and closing acquisitions,
partnerships and other such relationships. In addition,
he will also oversee the technical development activities
associated with optimizing the value of XO's wealth
of LMDS spectrum.

Mr. Oliver's career in telecom spans
more than 20 years. Prior to joining XO, he was the
Founder, Chairman and CEO of Cambrian Communications,
a facilities-based metropolitan area network provider,
delivering end-to-end, all-optical network solutions
between New York and Washington, DC. Before forming
Cambrian, Mr. Oliver was the founder, President and
CEO of Wave International, Inc.
In his career, he also held various
senior positions at Bell Atlantic Corporation including
Vice President of Corporate Development and Vice President
of Federal Regulatory Relations. In addition, Mr. Oliver
has been a board member of and advisor for various privately
held telecom related companies.
