Modwest
completes network upgrade [11th November 2003]
November 11th, 2003 – Modwest
today announced the addition of a new network provider
to support the company’s growing bandwidth requirements.
The recently deployed additional connection will provide
overflow capacity and network redundancy for Modwest’s
hosting services.
Modwest co-founder and VP John Masterson
remarked: “Throughout 2003, we have focused on
improving the scalability of our technical infrastructure.
This redundant internet connection complements the advances
we’ve made with our hosting server cluster this
year, and should provide for near-100% network uptime
going forward.”
Multiple, redundant network connectivity
is important to Modwest and its customers because of
the performance and failover benefits. When connectivity
is obtained from multiple providers, service uptime
– and visitor experience – can be greatly
enhanced because traffic can be dynamically routed around
localized congestion or outages.
“Modwest is committed to excellence,”
added Masterson. “And in today’s competitive
hosting market, our customers around the world demand
it. This network upgrade is just one in a long line
of enhancements and upgrades to our hosting infrastructure.”
Modwest provides shared and managed
hosting services to thousands of customers in fifty
countries worldwide.
